  13.      PowerPad is a shareware Windows text editor.  It is similar to
  14.      the NotePad editor that comes with Windows.  The file README.1ST
  15.      contains all LICENSE, DISCLAIMER, TRADEMARK, and COPYRIGHT
  16.      information for PowerPad.

  25.      General
  26.      -------
  27.      PowerPad works much like NotePad.  Unless otherwise noted, ALL
  28.      NotePad functions are included in PowerPad, and they operate
  29.      in the same manner.

  31.      File Size
  32.      ---------
  33.      PowerPad has many features that make it superior to NotePad, but
  34.      it does share one substantial limitation - a 45K maximum file size.
  35.      We have done some work to ensure that the file size limit is ALWAYS
  36.      45K (unlike NotePad), so that you don't run out of space before the
  37.      file reaches 45K under any circumstances.

  39.      Double-Click Selection
  40.      ----------------------
  41.      Double-click selection rules work differently in PowerPad than in
  42.      a standard edit control.  PowerPad uses any non-alphanumeric to
  43.      define the beginning and end of the selection, except for whitespace
  44.      selection, where alphanumerics and CR's define the beginning and end
  45.      of the selected white space.

  47.      Right-Click Selection
  48.      ---------------------
  49.      The right mouse click extends the selection from the caret to the
  50.      point of the click, just like a SHIFT+Left-Click.

  52.      Settings

  54.      PowerPad remembers all previous setting each time it is executed.
  55.      This includes window size and position, whether the window was
  56.      maximized, file preferences, page setup, tab stops, wordwrap 
  57.      state,run commands and more.

  59.      File Prefences
  60.      --------------
  61.      Default file specifications (e.g. *.TXT, *.C, *.RC) can be set, as
  62.      well as the default name for an unnamed file.  These preferences
  63.      are used in File\Open, File\Merge, File\Save, and File\SaveAs.

  65.      File Merge
  66.      ----------
  67.      The contents of an entire file can be inserted at the caret (or
  68.      insertion point if you prefer).  The new text is selected after
  69.      the merge operation.

  71.      Tabs

  73.      Tabs can be set with View\Tab Stops.  The range is 1 to 20.

  76.      ----
  77.      Find allows the 'whole word' option as well as case sensitivity.  
  78.      Whole word uses any non-alphanumeric as a delimeter (including LF,
  79.      CR, and EOF).  Find uses any currently selected text as the default
  80.      target.  If no text is selected it uses the previous find target.

  82.      Change
  83.      ------
  84.      Change allows 'whole word' like find, as well as on option to
  85.      manually confirm each change. Change uses any currently selected
  86.      text as the default target.  If no text is selected it uses the 
  87.      previous change target.  Change searches from the current caret
  88.      position to the end of file.  At the end of file, you get a dialog
  89.      box that asks if you want to continue from the beginning of the file.
  90.      If so, it searched from the beginning of the file to where you
  91.      started from.  At the end of change, you get a count of the number
  92.      of changes made.  If you select 'confirm changes', you get a dialog
  93.      box at each change that lets you choose yes, no, or cancel.  You
  94.      can also turn of the 'confirm changes' in this dialog.

  96.      Goto Line
  97.      ---------
  98.      Goto Line allows you to go to any line by specifying the line number.
  99.      The entire line is seleceted as a result.

  101.      Run Options

  103.      PowerPad can be configured to run other applications by adding the
  104.      menu item and the command line to in the Run Options dialog.  The
  105.      Run options will show up on the Run menu after they are added.

  109.      The About... box gives the number of lines in the file, as well as
  110.      the number of characters.
